264 pages containing contemporary Scottish recipes from the Georgian era 

With chapters covering soups,fish, meat, pies, pastries, preserves & pickles. Also including suggested family dinners of 5 to 15 dishes!   .

Mrs Susanna MacIver lived in Edinburgh during the late 1700's and ran a cooking school for "..instructing  young Ladies in this necessary branch of female education..".
Her book 'Macivers Cookery' was first published in 1783
She has been described by Florence White in "Good Things in England" as the daughter of an inpoverished Highland laird and her cooking school was located in the Old Town of Edinburgh.
