Childs Leather Mary Jane Shoes, Circa 1920s

Great pair of old 'Mary Jane' style leather shoes for a young child / toddler. 

Exact age unknown but would guess it would be around the 1920s or possibly earlier. 

They have a European size mark on them and the soles are impressed with a name - although this is unclear. 
There are also some numbers printed on the inside of one shoe. 
The leather is very solid and not supple - especially in the rounded toe. They have therefore stood the test of time and most likely the play of more than one toddler as shoes of this age would likely to have been handed down to the next sibling.  

Would make nice display / practical items, or an authentic period prop for theatre or reenactments

Size:
The number '22' is impressed on the shoes - this is believed to be a European size for Baby / Toddler shoes. 
The UK equivalent would be '5'. However, as all makers can vary in their sizes and if you would like us to give specific measurements please ask.

Very good condition with fading and marks commensurate with age & usage 
There is a stain to the side of one shoe and one of the glass buttons is loose.
