Lace Bodice Insert Panel-Antique, Handsewn

The deep frill skirting the main piece has been bordered / attached by a very narrow edging of lace stitches. 
The main centre piece is decorated with one large flower head to the lower part and then the pattern spreads out with numerous smaller buds, foliage and spots. 
The stitching is in a form of chain stitch which believed to have been hand worked through the net itself. The outer frill border has an edging made up of three lines of chain stitch.  

Nice display / practical piece, or authentic period prop for theatre or reenactments

Measures approx. 15" deep and 11.50" wide

Pre-owned, used antique lace.
Good antique used condition.
