Leather Ice Skating Boots / Skates, Mobbs Bros Embekay Brand, Circa 1930s

Ice Skating Boots.

Rare opportunity to aquire a pair of vintage 'Embekay' Brand calf leather ice skating boots by Mobbs Bros believed to date circa 1930s.
Complete with leather blade guards/covers.
Colour: Indigo / Black (almost black).
Sheepskin lining to the inside tongue.
Inside of each boot having impressed marks ‘1567 6½ S 231’ with ‘Edinbaird’ in gilt lettering to the inside on the soles.
Skate blades marked – ‘Polar-Solo no 1556’, ‘SPEZIAL- STAHL No 11 Garantie’

Original box label marked with the trade logo ‘Embekay’ No. S231 Size 6½ and hand written ‘Calf Skating Boot’

Would make a nice addition to a sporting items collection or, a useful authentic period display prop.

NB:
Please remember that these skates are over half a century old, and most likely will not conform to modern safety regulations. Therefore, they are being sold purely as a museum or 'collectors' item and not for use.

In our opinion these skates are in extremely good used condition - however, there is a slight ‘nic / damage’ mainly to the sole edge of one boot which must have been caused by a blade during usage. (see close-up photo)
The steel blades have been in long term storage and smothered with a protective layer of clear grease & wrapped in newspaper and are therefore in superb condition for their age.
The leather blade guards have lightly written inked initials.
These items are as we found them, apart from removing the newspaper and a fair amount of the protective grease from the blades, we have not cleaned or polished them.
The original box is in extremely poor condition - flattened and of no real use.
